The Tidy Thimble, handmade by Caitlin

Colorful things for a well‑loved home.

Bowl cozies, pouches, table linens and more, sewn one at a time. Much of the fabric is thrifted, so no two pieces are quite alike.

Practical, but never boring.

Everyday things for the kitchen, the table and your bag, in bold florals and bright prints. Many pieces are cut from thrifted or reclaimed fabric, so most are one of a kind.

The story

It started with a sewing machine from her grandmother.

Nearly 20 years ago, Caitlin’s grandmother gave her a sewing machine, and with it a lifelong love of sewing and quilting.

Today The Tidy Thimble carries that legacy forward in a distinctly modern way: traditional techniques, bold modern prints, and fabric rescued from thrift shops and given a second life.

Custom requests

Something particular in mind?

A set of bowl cozies in your kitchen colors, or a gift for someone specific? Caitlin takes custom requests when time allows.

Caring for your pieces

Machine wash cold
Gentle cycle
Tumble dry low
or hang to dry
Warm iron

Thrifted fabrics may soften and fade a little. That’s the charm.

Questions

Good to know

Can I buy online?

Not yet. A few times a year Caitlin will put a small batch online. Join the list to hear when.

Is every piece one of a kind?

Most are. Much of the fabric is thrifted, so there’s often only enough of a print for one or two pieces.

Do you ship?

When online drops begin, orders will ship by USPS for one flat rate.

How can I pay at a market?

Cash, cards, tap to pay, and Venmo.
